What is Chandrashtama?
According to Vedic astrology, Chandrashtama is a day when the Moon travels through the 8th house from your Moon sign. The word ‘Chandrashtama’ comes from ‘Chandra’ (Moon) and ‘Ashta’ (eight). As the Moon takes two and a half days to transition between moon signs, this period is known as Chandrashtama for the particular moon sign natives. Traditionally, Chandrashtama days are thought of as unlucky for launching any initiatives.
What is the Significance of Pushya Nakshatra?
Pushya Nakshatra is one of the most important nakshatras in the Vedic astrology system. It is considered to be an auspicious nakshatra for undertaking new beginnings and is associated with good luck and fortune. The planet Jupiter is the ruling planet of Pushya Nakshatra and its symbol is the cow’s udder. Pushya Nakshatra falls in the constellation of Cancer and spans from 10°00′ to 23°20′. The ruling planet of Cancer is Moon and its element is water. Cancer is a feminine sign, which signifies emotions, nurturing and care. The main deity of Pushya Nakshatra is Brihaspati, who is also known as Guru or Jupiter. He is the teacher of the gods and the lord of wisdom and knowledge. Brihaspati is depicted as a bearded man riding on a chariot drawn by eight white horses. He represents divine knowledge and insight, and his blessings are said to bring prosperity, good fortune and success. The symbol of Pushya Nakshatra is a circle enclosing a lotus flower. The lotus symbolizes purity, beauty, grace and spiritual awakening. The circle represents completeness, wholeness and perfection. Pushya Nakshatra is considered to be an auspicious time for starting new ventures, undertakings and initiatives. It is also said to be an ideal time for travel, marriage and other important life events.
